Hi people, some of you might know that I'm from Mexico, and I want to ask you for your prayers for the Mexican state of Tabasco. This state is now almost 80% underwater 'cause of severe flooding due to huge rains and problems with some dams and stuff. There is talk about more than 1 million people that had to be evacuated and over 300,000 that still remain trapped in their homes.

We have been lucky, since there has been only one fatality, until now, but almost 100% of the crops of this state, like banana, corn, cacao=chocolate and chilies has been lost as well as complete towns. Is a total devastation and I want to ask you to pray for the rain to stop here.

Thank God, there is been a huge response of the population of Mexico so tons of food, cloths, blankets, etc are being send to the state, but if the rain doesn't stop there is not going to be a place for people to go and be safe and worse, there is going to be nothing to return to.

Here are some links about this, if you want to read it.

That's terrible. I'm glad to hear about so much response, though.

I'll be keeping Mexico in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Monica,

As someone who went through the massive flooding of New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina, my heart goes out to the people in Mexico who are suffering the same tragedy. I will keep them all in my prayers.
Do you know if there is a Mexican equivalent of the Red Cross, or a relief organization that might accept donations?
Reading is life... :)

Thanks :), you rock and I'm grateful you are thinking about it. We have the same Red cross, but I don't know if they might take donations for Mexico. We apreciate the prayers anyway :D. hugs!!! Be well and take care :)

I want to ask for your prayers for Tabasco

You have them.

American information systems suck. I had no idea this was happening. All my lists have been telling me about the California fires, politics and the WGA strike. *shakes head*

*hugs* I just *knew* those floods were going too affect someone I knew!

It doesn't seem right, that so many of our southern states are so far behind in rainfall and are hurting badly for water, and there's Mexico, practically floating! It just sucks.

Sending good vibes!
